Our Visitors Love Us

Don’t just take our word, listen to what our visitors say!

“My husband and I visited here on Sunday to see the Civil War encampment, which was wonderful, but we also took a tour of the house. We’ve visited before, as I wrote my senior undergrad thesis on Aaron Burr, and always make it a point to stop by when I can, but we were really struck yesterday by how knowledgeable and informative the docents are.

The house looked gorgeous, and we were glad to be able to get a chance to see the holiday decorations still up inside. Even though we’ve visited several times in the past, we still learned some new and interesting facts from the docents on Sunday. I can’t wait to check out the new Aaron Burr exhibit that’s coming soon! ”

“We were there for a Cadillac Classic Car show. We went on a tour of one of the houses there. It is remarkable how they restored and preserved it. The guides were friendly and informative. Really enjoyed it. ”

“The Hermitage is a rare historic treasure in the middle of suburbia! Visitors can tread on the same ground as General George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr (who married Theodosia Prevost, the mistress of The Hermitage). I’m so grateful The Friends of The Hermitage have been able to keep this wonderful place preserved for history lovers of all ages! ”
