The Hermitage Grounds

The Hermitage sits on 4.9 acres of property on the border of Waldwick and Ho-Ho-Kus and is part of the original property that once spanned nearly 300 acres. Today, the grounds consist of the Hermitage, the John Rosencrantz House, and our gardens.

Like the Hermitage itself, the property is owned by the State of New Jersey, Division of Parks and Forestry. It’s open to the public seven days a week from 9:00am – 5:00pm.

The gardens on the property are maintained by the Master Gardeners of Bergen County, a dedicated group of volunteers graduated from the Rutgers Master Gardeners Program.

We’d like to thank the Native Wildflowers Nursery for their generous donation to support the Hermitage museum gardens
