This June marks the 50th Anniversary of the Friends of the Hermitage

Come join all of us as we celebrate this historic achievement

How It All Started

On January 21st, 1972 in the Education Building of the Old Paramus Reformed Church some 200 people decided to form the Friends of the Hermitage, an organization that would protect the historic house and its contents, run fundraisers, donations, and begin restorations. Through their efforts over the years, the friends were able to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars, save the 1892 John Rosencrantz house from demolition, and fully restore the house to its original state, the beautiful home as we see it today.
