School Programs at the Hermitage

Hermitage Education Programs for school groups are available Monday-Friday throughout the school year.  Programs are available for students in Pre-K and Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle and High School, on a variety of subjects that meet NJCCC Standards. Each program generally begin at 9:30 a.m.  To ensure the date of your choice, we recommend scheduling as far in advance as possible.  For program and booking information, contact Vanessa Hamilton, Director of Education, at 201-445-8311 x 103 or vhamilton@thehermitage.org.

On Site Programs

All programs begin at the Hermitage Education and Conference Center. Most programs last 1.5 – 2.5 hours.  Maximum group size 4 classes (approximately 100 students), depending on season.  The fee is $10 per person (students and adult chaperones).  Siblings who are not part of a school group are not permitted to accompany their parent chaperones.

Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of your program.  The Hermitage makes every effort to accommodate late groups but reserves the right to adjust or shorten programs as circumstances demand.  Indoor eating facilities are available when prior arrangements are made.  No food is available for sale on-site, so groups must bring their own brown-bag lunches.

Off-Site Programs 

Can’t come to us?  Hermitage Educators can bring our programs to your school.  Programs generally run 1.5 hours.  Group size must be approved by the Director of Education at the time of booking.  The fee is $150 per class.  Teachers must provide a large table at the front of the room for our materials.  Consecutive programs must be held in the same location.
