In January 2010, the Friends of the Hermitage entered a new cooperative agreement  with Chuck and Laura Adams, principals of the catering firm Take Away Gourmet of Waldwick. Their mission is to bring their undying passion for food, innovative presentation skills, and exacting attention to detail to the off-premise catering scene in the tri-state area. 

With catering events that range from small, intimate events to large scale galas, Take Away Gourmet always bring its best to every occasion, and the results are spectacular. As The Hermitage moves forward to provide a charming and unique venue for private parties and events, we are pleased to have Take Away Gourmet as our exclusive catering partner.

Available for rental within the Hermitage Education & Conference Center is our banquet room, Jaqua Hall, which accommodates gatherings of 20 up to 150. The Hermitage also provides patios and nearly five acres of tree-shaded lawns that make a delightful setting for a memorable wedding reception or other private party. FACILITIES:

The Hermitage Education & Conference Center consists of the late-nineteenth-century John Rosencrantz House and a 3,500-square-foot addition built in 1999. The HECC contains the museum's visitor center and offices. Please note that the historic Hermitage house is not available for rental at any time.

Within the HECC is Jaqua Hall, an elegant 1,650-square-foot meeting and banquet room with an adjacent warming kitchen. Four French doors open onto the 1,200-square-foot, stone-paved Jaqua Patio. A fifth door opens onto the Victorian Terrace connecting Jaqua Hall to the parlors of the John Rosencrantz House. 

Our facilities are located on five acres of beautiful shaded grounds. The Hermitage can host events on the landscaped grounds, with the historic house in sight for a unique atmosphere. 

Our facilities are available for private parties and catered events through our exclusive partnership with Take Away Gourmet.

We also offer rentals of Jaqua Hall for (non-catered) business meetings, retreats, and nonprofit-group meetings Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., contingent on museum program scheduling.
