Bischoff, Henry. A Revolutionary Relationship: Theodosia Prevost, Aaron Burr and the Hermitage.  Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ: Friends of the Hermitage, 2004. 

This deeply researched work tells the story of The Hermitage National Historic Landmark in Ho-Ho-Kus and its owners during the Colonial and Revolutionary Eras.  It focuses especially on the life of Theodosia Bartow Prevost and her relationship with and marriage to Aaron Burr, one of the Founding Fathers.

The author, an award-winning specialist in New Jersey history, is Emeritus Professor of History at Ramapo College and director of historical studies at The Hermitage Museum.  The book contains six illustrations, end notes, and an index, making it particularly useful for students.  It has been funded in part by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state Partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Brown, Marion and Henry Bischoff. The Rosencrantz Cotton Warp Mill: The Industrial Revolution at the Hermitage 1830-1891.  Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ: Friends of the Hermitage, 2004. 

This carefully researched, illustrated booklet reveals the economic basis of the 19th century Rosencrantz family and the connections between their cotton warp mill and the Industrial Revolution in northern New Jersey, a little-known aspect of the history of The Hermitage National Historic Landmark.  It has been funded in part by the Bergen County Department of Parks and the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of Cultural Affairs in the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
